Ramps selection guide

Strisce-Antiusura

1. Indicate the type of vehicle to be loaded

Ramps are sold in pairs and are suitable for 4-wheeled or crowled vehicles; platforms are sold individually and are suitable for 2- or 3-wheeled vehicles such as motorcycles, forklifts, and pallet trucks (always specify when necessary whether the vehicle mounts tires or tracks)

2. Indicate the weight of the load

It is necessary to know the maximum weight (kg) of the vehicle to be loaded, including operator, liquid and operating accessories.

3. Measure the loading height

The definition of required Loading height immediately identifies the right length of the loading ramp By law, the slope of the ramp or platform should not exceed a slope of 30 percent.

4.Measure the wheelbase of the vehicle to be loaded

Measure (mm) the wheelbase (pitch) of the vehicle to be loaded. Measure the distance between front and rear wheel (wheeled machine) or the ground length of the crawler (crawled machine).

5. Measure the width of the tires or crowlers

In order to allow the best weight distribution, it is suggested inner part of the ramps to be maximum 100 mm larger than the wheel/crawler.

6. Select model with or without side security borders

RAMPS WITH BORDERS RC: Increased safety from the danger of slipping or tipping over sideways. BORDERLESS RAMPS RCS: for vehicles with very wide wheels or crowled vehicles.

7. Selection of the Support System

Standard Terminal

Elliptic shaped lip ensures an easier transit, in particular to small wheeled vehicles, along with better connection to truck bed.

Terminal A

Steady and functional, The loading surface must be prepared.
Mainly used for short ramps
to reduce the connection size.

Terminal B

Semi-elliptical shaped terminal, with small tooth type plate welded on the bottom of the terminal. Used on specifically arranged trucks in order to reduce connection size. Used mainly for short ramps to reduce the terminal footprint.

Bar Terminal

Typically used for heavy duty or very customized applications. Two plates are welded on truck loading bed, and a pivot pin (fixed upon the plates) is afterward the base slide for the terminal.

Selection of Fixing Type

Option available exclusively
for the STANDARD TERMINAL

Standard Fix: Bolt and screw

Screw to be dropped through the ramp lip (hole 15mm diameter is suggested) into the trailer/truck bed. Afterward fixed with bolt underneath.

Fix A: Pivot and clamp

Ramp is fixed though a removable pivot sliding into 2 clamps welded on trailer/truck platform (provided with removable pin).

Fix B: Chain with Fixing hook

A plate is welded on lower surface of ramp floor and fixed to the truck bed by a chain and hook (not supplied).

Fix C: Security clamp

Suitable for vehicle with banks, a clamp is welded on the ramp through a pivot pin, the fixing is operated by sliding the clamp into the vehicle bank. The clamp can shift almost all the bank length; even very versatile, it is not recommended for heavy loads.

Fix D: Plate System

The Anchoring is provided by the use of an aluminum pivoting plate. One side is “hinged” within ramp terminal, the other side to be slid between vehicle bank and bed. Available for 68 and 78 series models.
