Food industry Walkways

Transit Systems for the Food Industry

Food industry walkways are passageways or elevated structures that allow for the movement and transportation of people, equipment, and materials from one area to another within the facility. In particular, they allow personnel to easily reach the equipment and tools needed to perform their work and inspections without having to walk around production lines with long and potentially dangerous routes.

Designed and constructed to ensure proper cleanliness and hygiene, and to prevent contamination of food products, they are made of materials that can be easily cleaned and disinfected and may have drainage systems for controlling wash waters and cleaning chemicals.

As often food processing materials produce an acidic environment, they are generally made of stainless steel. To combine savings and durability, parts not in contact with food liquids can be made of natural or anodized aluminum. In any case, they are designed to ensure the safety of personnel using them, offering a stable and safe walking and handling surface.

Food industry walkways can be equipped with side protection barriers and safety devices to prevent the risk of falls. They are also built to withstand heavy loads and hostile environmental conditions present within the facility, such as high temperatures or chemical vapors.

Main Features

Why Aluminum?

Anodized aluminum total cost over walkway lifespan is not only lower than the one made in carbon steel, but user can also count upon an undoubtfully superior aesthetic perception and a minor corrosion against water, humidity, cleaning and other agents.

How we Work

1. Preliminary project analysis

Our technicians work closely with the sales department, supporting the customer in the preliminary analysis of the project to promptly provide an initial quotation.

2. On-site inspection

It is essential for the project definition: in-depth knowledge of the machinery on which the structures will be installed and analysis of the operational context allow us to send the final quotation.

3. 3D Simulation and Design

Thanks to the 3D CAD design system, our technical office will be able to provide highly customized solutions from a structural, safety and aesthetic point of view.

4. Manufacturing

Production is carried out entirely at our facility by qualified and experienced operators, with constant monitoring of the process, materials, finishes, and quality of the work.

5. Preassembly in Lotus and FAT

To ensure a service without unpleasant surprises, we perform a pre-assembly of all components to check for defects. A factory acceptance test is also performed alongside.

6. Assembly at customer's site

The assembly phase is greatly facilitated by the functional block palletization for assembly during packaging and the numbering of references for each component to be assembled.

Our Plus

Security Requirements

Starting from the project, Lotus Alutech builds its own structures by respecting all safety requirements and reference regulations according to the highest standards.

Customer Service

The technical office and the sales department offer pre and post-sales assistance. The design of our products is particularly well-cared for to simplify assembly, reducing time and costs.

Customisation

We are able to provide fully customized technical and executive solutions starting from the specific needs expressed by the customer using the best aluminum alloys, stainless steel and, when required, carbon steel.
